What Can Imagine Energy Do For Your Commercial Property?

 Rooftop Solar

We have the knowledge and experience to design and install a photovoltaic system that takes advantage of the underutilized space on your buildings roof to generate the right amount of energy your facility needs. We understand that your commercial property is an investment, and we engineer our solar energy systems with an eye towards reducing your operations and maintenance costs and maximizing your solar electric generation.

Ground-Mounted Solar

For over 20 years, our team has been involved in designing, engineering, and constructing everything from small systems designed to offset seasonal loads from agricultural water pumping, to utility-scale community solar projects, to covering 300 acres in the middle of Central Oregon with over 160,000 ground-mounted solar panels. Imagine Energy is one of the best solar installers in Oregon, and we have the deep experience to ensure your ground mount solar project is successful.

Oregon Community Solar

Imagine Energy brings proven experience designing and building larger-scale community solar projects across Oregon. In 2025, we completed PDX Community Solar, a 1.23 MWDC ground-mount community solar project in Northeast Portland and the largest community solar project in Portland to date. Developed alongside partners including Bonneville Environmental Foundation, Leaders Become Legends, Verde, and the Port of Portland, the project now provides renewable energy benefits to nearly 150 homes while supporting Portland International Airport’s clean energy goals.

Projects like PDX Community Solar require more than strong installation capability. They demand careful coordination across design, permitting, utility interconnection, construction logistics, workforce development, and community engagement. Imagine Energy’s team is deeply familiar with the complexities of larger-scale solar design and installation, including navigating interconnection hurdles and working effectively with multifarious stakeholders—from NGOs and local government agencies to community members, landowners, and private utilities. Our experience allows us to deliver technically sound, community-centered solar projects that expand clean energy access and create lasting local impact.

Medford Irrigation District 1.1. MW DC Floating Solar Project

Floating Solar

Imagine Energy is helping lead the next frontier of solar development in Oregon. In 2026, we successfully completed the first floating solar installation in the state, a 1.1 MWDC floating solar project for the Medford Irrigation District in Central Point. The project places more than 1,700 solar panels on an irrigation reservoir, creating a dual-benefit clean energy asset that generates renewable power while helping conserve water during increasingly hot and dry summers. OPB reported that the project is expected to support Medford Irrigation District revenue, contribute power through Oregon’s Community Solar Program, and help reduce evaporation and reservoir temperatures.

Floating solar offers a compelling opportunity for rural communities, irrigation districts, agricultural regions, and public agencies seeking to make better use of existing water infrastructure. By siting solar arrays on reservoirs and other managed water bodies, these projects can reduce pressure on agricultural land, help limit evaporative water loss, and improve photovoltaic performance through the natural cooling effect of water. In some applications, shading can also help moderate water temperatures and reduce algae or aquatic weed growth, creating operational value beyond energy production alone.

These projects require a level of design, engineering, and construction expertise well beyond conventional ground-mount or rooftop solar. Floating solar demands careful attention to anchoring, buoyancy, electrical routing over and near water, long-term operations and maintenance access, utility interconnection, environmental conditions, water-level fluctuations, and the daily operating needs of the host facility. Successful execution depends on a team that understands both solar construction and the unique constraints of working on active water infrastructure.

Imagine Energy brings the indispensable hands-on experience required to deliver this specialized work. Not every solar contractor is prepared to execute floating solar safely, efficiently, or correctly. Our experience with the Medford Irrigation District project demonstrates our ability to navigate technical complexity, coordinate with diverse project partners, and deliver innovative solar solutions that create lasting value for communities, utilities, and public agencies across Oregon.

Battery Storage Systems

Imagine Energy helps businesses take control of their energy costs with commercial battery storage solutions. Battery backup technology allows you to store excess energy during off-peak hours and use it when electricity rates are highest—particularly optimizing your energy expenses under time-of-use (TOU) billing. This energy load shifting capability helps reduce demand charges, lower operating costs, and increase overall energy efficiency, even if you don’t have a solar energy system! Additionally, battery backup ensures uninterrupted power during grid outages, protecting your business from costly downtime and lost productivity. Whether you operate a retail store, office building, or industrial facility, backup energy storage solutions provide long-term savings, improved resilience, and a more sustainable future.

Electric Vehicle Charging

As electric vehicle adoption continues to accelerate, commercial EV charging is becoming an important amenity for businesses, workplaces, multifamily properties, retail centers, public facilities, and community destinations. Installing EV chargers can help property owners attract customers, support employees and tenants, increase dwell time, strengthen sustainability goals, and prepare parking assets for the next generation of transportation.

Imagine Energy designs and installs commercial EV charging systems that are practical, scalable, and tailored to your site. Our team evaluates electrical capacity, parking layout, charger placement, user needs, utility coordination, future expansion, and opportunities to integrate EV charging with solar, battery storage, and smart energy management. Whether the goal is workplace charging, customer-facing charging, multifamily resident charging, or public-access infrastructure, we help businesses build charging solutions that are reliable, efficient, and ready for long-term use.

Commercial EV charging projects may also qualify for financial incentives at the federal, state, and local utility levels. In Oregon, programs have included federal tax credits for eligible charging infrastructure, state-administered community charging rebate programs, and utility rebates or technical assistance from local electric providers. Availability, eligibility, funding levels, and deadlines change frequently, so contact us for current incentive information and a site-specific EV charging assessment.
